Scott J. Arnold
Scott Arnold joined the senior leadership team of Tampa General Hospital in 2010 overseeing Tampa General’s largest technology implementation, transformation and conversion to an electronic medical record. In 2013, his responsibilities were expanded to Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, then broadened again in 2018 to Executive Vice President accountable for technology, clinical engineering and innovation processes. During his time as CIO, Tampa General has earned numerous awards for health information technology including the prestigious “HIMSS Stage 7 Award” issued to less the 5% of all US hospitals, Hospital and Health Networks “Most Wired – Advanced” recognition and rated one of the “Best Hospital IT Departments” (over 200 personnel) by Healthcare IT News. Prior to joining Tampa General, Scott served as technology Corporate Vice President for Mercy Health in Saint Louis, Missouri. He also held leadership positions with Daleen Technologies, Boeing and McDonnell Douglas Aerospace with international assignments spanning the globe, including Australia, South America, Middle East and Western Europe. Scott served on the Board of Directors for the Tampa Bay Health Information Exchange, served on the Epic Connect Governing Council and the O’Neil Center’s Health Informatics Advisory Council. He also maintains active membership with the American College of Healthcare Executives and College of Healthcare Information Management Executives
Scott earned a master’s degree from Washington University’s School of Engineering, master’s degree from Webster University’s School of Business and Technology, bachelor’s degree from Southern Illinois University’s College of Applied Science, accredited by the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) as a Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO) and awarded project management professional certification
(PMP) from the Project Management Institute. He is also an instrument rated pilot licensed by the Federal Aviation Administration
